New work

So i lost my bible study sketchbook, my card for my camera, and the plugin for my printer, which explains why I haven't been putting up work. Finally i decided just to take a picture of it using my computer's camera...so yeah here ya go. This is an experiment with watercolor chalk and graphite.

News Update: I have an interview with Mead on Thursday!

Back on track!

So i was offered an opportunity to work at mead as an intern designer! It's a year-long internship which is awesome. I haven't officially been given the job yet but I have sent in a resume and set up a shadowing time with a family friend that holds the internship now. She will be showing me the ropes and teaching me exactly what they do there and what her job entails. Her name is Allison Moore. She got her degree from Sinclair and has been designing for Mead for the past year. I look forward to learning a lot from her! So far all i know is that i would be designing notebook covers, folders, backpacks and things like that to be sold wherever mead sells them, haha. I'm way more excited than I should be at this stage in the game but I can't help it at the moment :)

Summer, time to get to work.

Ok so the internship I was offered fell through because the people at that company have terrible communication skills. However, it has turned out to be a good thing because now that my name is out there, i've found 2 free-lance jobs, and the opportunity to shadow a designer at Mead paper. The 2 free-lance things include: a neighborhood newsletter and graduation announcements. not much but something :) I'm also working on a few paintings and drawings. I don't have my scanner up, otherwise i would post pics. I'm also thinking about doing some more collages and photos soon and i am working on filling my first sketchbook of the summer.

I found my old Photobucket account. There are a lot of images in there. These are from about 5 years ago. It's fun to see how I've progressed. A lot of these are from when I had my layout site on Xanga. I would create banners and background images to go with the website layouts I made. This feels like so long ago...

These are some of the things I submitted with my group's application to live on Art Street next year. We got in! These were made of recycled scrapbook paper that I then painted, dyed, drew on, ironed and basically anything else I could think of to make texture.
